Contained within this snippet of YouTube brilliance are the dulcet tones of co-driver Barry Meade, directing rally driver Jimmy Deane and his MkII Escort around Cork Forestry Rally back in August. We won't spoil the clip for you, but suffice to say the pace notes are both enthusiastic and DEFINITELY, DEFINITELY NOT SAFE FOR WORK. Or kids. No, really. A muscle-bound five-year-old has become an internet sensation because of his incredible feats of strength. Giuliano Stroe, from Romania, performs gruelling stunts such as walking on his hands with a medicine ball between his legs on YouTube. He earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records earlier this year when an Italian TV audience saw him perform the routine over 30 metres at top speed. He also does impressive cartwheels and backflips off a table top, and a dazzling gymnastics routine on a horizontal bar. The cartoon-loving Romanian youngster, who lives in Italy with his parents, has been trained from a baby, reports The Sun. Dad Iulian, 33, said: "He has been going to the gym since he was born. I have trained hard all my life and always take him with me. "But he is never allowed to practise on his own. He is only a child and if he gets tired we go and play."

Awestruck Muscovites captured on film the pale gold 'halo' that took up position over the city's Western District on Wednesday. However, local meteorologists rejected any theories of the supernatural, calling it an optical effect. "Several fronts have been passing through Moscow recently, there was an intrusion of the Arctic air too, the sun was shining from the west – this is how the effect was produced," said a local meteorologist. "This is purely an optical effect, although it does look impressive. If you look closer, you can see sun rays coming through that cloud. Most likely, the sun was setting when the video was being made," he added. Some environmentalists blamed pollution for the cloud, but weathermen were quick to reject the idea. "The phenomenon has nothing to do with industrial emissions," said one. "They could not produce such an effect against the background of the current weather conditions." "If something happens, there is the smog effect, but it appears only when the weather is quiet for a long time. The wind in Moscow has been quite strong recently."

A cheeky bird got top billing on an Australian news channel when it brazenly strolled in front of the camera during a news report.
However, reporter Peter Hitchener's feathers remained unruffled by the intrusion as he read a piece to camera about an underworld murder.
The scene, resembling something from a cheap horror movie, was caused by the seagull walking in front of a camera positioned to capture a bird's eye view of the city.
Channel Nine's Mr Hitchener told a Melbourne radio station: 'I was reading away and it was a serious story, and I suddenly thought “Oh my gosh, that seagull's back again”, because we had a bit of a problem last night.
'About 50 seconds to six o'clock this seagull arrived and started pecking at the camera and it had the beadiest huge eyes you've ever seen in your life.'
We wouldn't be surprised if more gull-ible viewers thought the station was under attack from a giant bird.

John Major was still prime minister when Mr Reynolds began in 1994 and he has spent 32,000 hours creating what is now officially the world's biggest matchstick model. Apart from costing him £5,000 in wood and glue, it has left things a bit strained in the Reynolds household. The model weighs a tonne, is 3.6m (12ft) tall and 6.4m (21ft) long and at one stage had to be split into 14 sections. 'It just started as a bit of a hobby but I guess it got out of hand,' said retired oil rig engineer Mr Reynolds, 51. 'People sit in front of the television for five or six hours a night but I get bored, so I'd just nip off for a few hours here and there to work on it. 'It's good fun and keeps the grey matter working. 'I've had a few museums contact me to say they want to buy it and there's even been an offer from Hollywood.' Wife Julie, 49, is less effusive. 'I am absolutely sick to death at the sight of a matchstick but I think there is still more to come, unfortunately,' she said from their Southampton home. 'But at least I know where he is and what he's doing, so I'd rather have him there than down the pub.' It beats the previous Guinness world record for a matchstick model held by a 3.5million match replica of the Titanic. Mr Reynolds has already started work on an armada of ships.

Sand artist, Kseniya Simonova, who moved audiences to tears as she won Ukraine’s Got Talent, has become an online sensation with more than two million hits.
Miss Simonova, 24, drew a series of pictures on an illuminated sand table showing how ordinary people were affected by the German invasion during World War II.
One video clip of her work on the television talent show has been viewed by two million users alone. The images, projected onto a large screen, moved many in the audience to tears and she won the top prize of about £75,000. She begins by creating a scene showing a couple sitting holding hands on a bench under a starry sky, but then warplanes appear and the happy scene is obliterated. It is replaced by a woman’s face crying, but then a baby arrives and the woman smiles again. Once again war returns and Miss Simonova throws the sand into chaos from which a young woman’s face appears. She quickly becomes an old widow, her face wrinkled and sad, before the image turns into a monument to an Unknown Soldier. This outdoor scene becomes framed by a window as if the viewer is looking out on the monument from within a house. In the final scene, a mother and child appear inside and a man standing outside, with his hands pressed against the glass, saying goodbye. The Great Patriotic War, as it is called in Ukraine, resulted in one in four of the population being killed with eight to 11 million deaths out of a population of 42 million.

A candid camera style TV show has shocked viewers by terrifying a comedian with a blood-soaked fake sniper attack. In the clip from Panic Face King, comedian Kato Ayumu enters a room and sits down with three actors for what he thought was a business meeting. Suddenly, the windows smash and the sound of gunfire fills the room. Kato jumps and screams in terror as the three actors slump to the floor with blood spurting from their chests. To the laughter of the studio audience, Kato crawls in obvious terror to the door, scrabbling in fear against it when he finds it locked. Another actor then bursts into the room wearing a bulletproof vest. Posing as Kato's rescuer, he tries to drag him out of the room as the comedian's body goes stiff on the floor. Another man then enters the room and repeatedly squeezes the trigger of his imitation gun into Kato's head as the petrified funny man flinches on the floor.

Mercifully, after a minute-and-a-half ordeal, a cameraman rushes out and informs Kato that he has been fooled.

The video has received over 100,000 views since being posted to YouTube.

While many viewers applauded the elaborate stunt, many expressed shock and outrage over the extreme nature of the programme.

An epileptic man who was born with just one hand and told he would never be able to climb a tree or ride a bike is to star in a film celebrating his heroic climbing achievements. Kevin Shields, who has just a thumb on his left hand, has mastered difficult levels of climbing grades - including ice climbing. And now a film, called Single Handed, has been made about his achievements. Directed by Paul Diffley, it premieres in Edinburgh this weekend.

'The first day I tried scrambling up in Glencoe was like a door opening,' said the 31-year-old, from Fort William. 'It felt brilliant and I decided I wanted to try rock climbing next. And when I got the hang of that, I went ice climbing, too. 'I live for climbing. I work just enough to be able to pay the bills, but I want to spend as much time in the mountains as possible. Nothing else matters at the moment. 'I don't think I am so special. Maybe kind of crazy - that's at least the reaction I get off most people. People think I must have some sort of death wish, but that is not the case at all. I only take calculated risks.' He hopes the can be an inspiration to others. 'In the past, one of my reasons for doing this was to show people that I could do it, despite my disability - but I passed that stage three years ago and I guess I'm now trying to prove a point to myself,' he said. 'It would be nice if other people with disabilities saw this film and were motivated.'

Two cross-dressing cage fighters have branded a pair of drunken yobs who attacked them in a Swansea street as 'idiots'. Daniel Lerwell and James Lilley were teetering along in heels and mini-skirts on a fancy dress night when they were attacked. But boozed-up Dean Gardener and Jason Fender got more than they bargained for when they decided to pick on the pair of beefcakes after taunting them about their drag outfits. Plumber Daniel, 23, said: 'It's a sorry state of affairs when a guy can't walk down the street in a mini-skirt and make-up without getting grief from some idiot. 'I had lipstick and eyeliner on and felt very proud of myself. I thought it looked particularly fetching. It just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover.' He added: 'James and I are as hard as they come if you pick a fight with us.' When 19-year-old Gardener threw a punch at one of the cage fighters – who was wearing a pink wig and a blue boob tube - he was quickly sent reeling by two lightning quick blows. Banker James, 22, told the Daily Mirror: 'As they walked past me one said, 'Nice dress, gay boy'. He then threw a punch at me. 'He was on the floor two seconds later. I don't take any nonsense from idiots like him.' James dropped his clutch bag during the scuffle but after collecting up his make-up from the pavement, the cage fighters headed off to the club they were going to. Gardener and Fender, 22, had been drinking heavily prior to attacking the pair in Swansea city centre on August 30. The incident was caught on CCTV and has since become a worldwide hit on YouTube. Both thugs pleaded guilty to abusive words and behaviour when they appeared before magistrates in Swansea. They were each electronically tagged, handed a four-month community order and told to observe a 7pm to 7am curfew.

The "Miracle on Ice" is the nickname given to a medal-round men's ice hockey game during the 1980 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid, New York, which occurred on February 22. The United States team, made up of amateur and collegiate players and led by coach Herb Brooks, defeated the Soviet Union team, who were considered to be the best hockey team in the world. The U.S. went on to win the gold medal by winning their final match over Finland, who finished 4th. The Soviet Union took the silver medal by beating Sweden in their final game. As part of the its 100th anniversary celebrations in 2008, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) picked the Miracle on Ice as the number-one international hockey story of the century.[1]

Singer Kelly Rowland demanded an apology from Mobo awards organisers after claiming her performance was affected by poor sound quality. The 28-year-old sang her hit single When Love Takes Over with David Guetta at Wednesday's event in Glasgow. As she began, the star look unhappy and briefly stopped, later posting on Twitter she was "livid" at show bosses. However, a Mobo spokesman claimed Rowland reviewed her performance after finishing and was "completely happy". On her Twitter feed, the star had said: "I wanted you guys to be the 1st [sic] to hear it from me! "Rehearsals. were fine. soundcheck. was fine. performance, was a struggle at 1st."
She said the poor sound had made her "work harder" and added: "What I will say is the Mobos owe me an apology! I was LIVID after the show!" The former Destiny's Child singer said: "I got through it. It happens! The next show will be Better. TRUST!"
A Mobo spokesman said: "Kelly Rowland looked at the BBC's iPlayer and thought her performance was better than she initially thought when she came off stage and is completely happy with her performance."

The souped-up carousel was created by The Madagascar Institute, an arts collective based in New York that specialises in large-scale sculptures and rides. Their latest creation – which appears worryingly ramshackle – was given its maiden voyage at the city's experimental gadget festival Gadgetoff last week. Two volunteers agreed to be strapped in to the contraption's home-made seats – or "horses" – before the jet engines to which they were strapped were ignited and the merry-go-round whirred into life. With flames blasting out of the engines the volunteers were lifted feet above the ground, their seats becoming almost horizontal as the carousel's speed increased. The stunt was caught on camera by the Popular Mechanics website, producing one of the most compelling "science" videos ever posted on YouTube. "It would be difficult to put into words exactly how awesome I think this is. Lots and lots and lots of awesome at the very least," wrote one commenter. After the success of the trial, members of the Madagascar Institute now plan to fine-tune their design to allow the "horses" to travel entirely on their sides.
