A new anti-alcoholism video in Russia featuring a drunken red-eyed squirrel has gone viral and been watched over a million times on YouTube.
The animated creature rants, sings, and tries to climb the walls during the 55 second clip. The controversial advert involves the squirrel talking to the camera in a rambling dialogue which includes ‘chasing spiders up the wall’ and the death of a friend’s wife because ‘she is a devil’. The public service ad was commissioned by Russia’s health and social development ministry as part of its ‘healthy lifestyle programme’, a spokesperson confirmed. The advert ends with the slogan: ‘Do you drink? Then I’m coming for you’. To date the short video has been watched by 1.56 million times on YouTube.
