Two cross-dressing cage fighters have branded a pair of drunken yobs who attacked them in a Swansea street as 'idiots'. Daniel Lerwell and James Lilley were teetering along in heels and mini-skirts on a fancy dress night when they were attacked. But boozed-up Dean Gardener and Jason Fender got more than they bargained for when they decided to pick on the pair of beefcakes after taunting them about their drag outfits. Plumber Daniel, 23, said: 'It's a sorry state of affairs when a guy can't walk down the street in a mini-skirt and make-up without getting grief from some idiot. 'I had lipstick and eyeliner on and felt very proud of myself. I thought it looked particularly fetching. It just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover.' He added: 'James and I are as hard as they come if you pick a fight with us.' When 19-year-old Gardener threw a punch at one of the cage fighters – who was wearing a pink wig and a blue boob tube - he was quickly sent reeling by two lightning quick blows. Banker James, 22, told the Daily Mirror: 'As they walked past me one said, 'Nice dress, gay boy'. He then threw a punch at me. 'He was on the floor two seconds later. I don't take any nonsense from idiots like him.' James dropped his clutch bag during the scuffle but after collecting up his make-up from the pavement, the cage fighters headed off to the club they were going to. Gardener and Fender, 22, had been drinking heavily prior to attacking the pair in Swansea city centre on August 30. The incident was caught on CCTV and has since become a worldwide hit on YouTube. Both thugs pleaded guilty to abusive words and behaviour when they appeared before magistrates in Swansea. They were each electronically tagged, handed a four-month community order and told to observe a 7pm to 7am curfew.
