*BUMP* RICKY GERVAIS GOLDEN GLOBES 'GASP-INDUCING' OPENING MONOLOGUE NOW WITH ADDED TIGHT GOLDEN LAME BOXER SHOT...

Ricky Gervais joked last week that he would make sure he was never invited back to host the Golden Globes again and it looks like might have succeeded after a barrage of controversial quips at the expense of his star-studded crowd last night.
The Office funnyman, who was hosting the show for the second year running, was accused of occasionally over-stepping the mark by guests and US media. He kicked off proceedings by taking a sip from a beer glass and quipped: 'It's going to be a night of partying and heavy drinking. Or, as Charlie Sheen calls it, breakfast' The comedian also introduced Bruce Willis as 'Ashton Kutcher's dad' and mocked nominated film The Tourist. Taking about the growth of 3D films, he said: 'Seems like everything this year was three-dimensional. Except the characters in The Tourist. 'I'd like to quash the rumours that the only reason The Tourist was nominated was so that the Hollywood Foreign Press can hang out with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. That is rubbish, that is not the only reason. They also accepted bribes.' Gervais also made a joke about an unnamed Scientologist's sexuality, drawing gasps from the audience. 'Also not nominated, I Love You Phillip Morris. Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. Two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay, so the complete opposite of some famous Scientologists then.' 'Probably. My lawyers helped me with the wording of that joke,' he added. He described Robert Downey Jr as better known for 'his stays at the Betty Ford clinic and the LA County jail' than for his movie roles. The Iron Man actor hit back after the show saying: 'Aside from the fact that it's been hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister overtones, I'd say the vibe of the show is pretty good, wouldn't you? 'I think it's great to be funny. But it's better if you can do it without hurting people.'Gervais' jokes were considered so incendiary that when he went missing during the second half of the show, fans suggested on Twitter that he'd been fired backstage. Film producer Harvey Weinstein joked at the Weinstein after-party that Gervais wouldn't make it out of Beverly Hills alive. 'Ricky Gervais will not make it out of town tonight. There are seven people that we've hired to kill him and deservedly so. 'Knowing that Ricky Gervais will never work again means a lot to me, I'm going to make sure of it,' he joked. The King's Speech director Tom Hooper was also left gob-smacked. 'Do you know how edgy he was?' he said. 'LA is a careful town - my God he was unbelievable. 'I thought he was hilarious but will he ever present another award show again? I don't know but if he went out, he went out burning.' Meanwhile, Paris Hilton said people shouldn't overreact to his jokes. 'That's how it is at an awards show, they want to get some laughs.' Phillip Berk, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, was asked after the show if he would consider booking Gervais again. 'No comment,' he replied.
HATERS GONNA HATE RICKY...
