Commuters on the London Underground are used to unusual sights - but even they were surprised to see a fox calmly walking up the escalator at a Tube station, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. It's not clear where he was trying to get to - Foxford Circus, Shepherd's Bushy Tail, or maybe just Barking.
The picture was taken by freelance journalist Kate Arkless Gray, who posted it to both Twitter and her Flickr photo stream. The picture became a big hit on Twitter, with over 17,000 people looking at the picture., leaving comments like 'Most awesome picture ever!', 'He's the coolest fox ever', and 'Where does he keep his Travel Card?'
The fox was eventually shooed back out through the gates at Walthamstow Central station by staff, and was last seen heading in the direction of the bus station, presumably to try and get the night bus instead.
Forget the nursery rhyme about a cow jumping over the Moon – this animal leapt on to a roof.
This is the cow from Blagdon, Somerset, who jumped six feet onto the roof of a building. Fortunately, 17-year-old William de Cothi was on hand to hastily snap a picture - because he thought nobody would believe him otherwise.
Medics in China couldn't get to the bottom of a drunk student's pain - until x-rays revealed he had a television remote control stuck up his bottom.
The amazing x-rays showed that 19-year-old Huang Chen had the TV remote lodged up his backside. Police believe it was a part of a prank played by flatmates on Chen when he collapsed after a night's drinking in Changsha, southern China. 'We didn't know what it was to start with. There was a little bit of blood but he didn't say anything about a remote control. We couldn't quite believe it when we saw the X-ray,' said Dr Wei Lung Zhi of Hunan Hangtian Hospital. 'He will be fine in time, but the remote was a write off,' he added.
