Here is the email we got from Sinead in UCC to plug her charity event!! We said no problem! Why not bring the sumo suits too and have a laugh also!!!
My name is Sinead Slater I'm a fourth year student in UCC doing Sports Studies and Physical Education. Our course is organising a charity event to raise money for the Special Olympics. This is a fundraising day Physical Activity for All at the Glen Resource and Sports Centre on Saturday the 23rd January. This event will raise much needed funds for both the Special Olympics Munster Branch and the Access Programme for individuals with disabilities at UCC.
We are organising for member of the Cork hurling and football teams to appear at the event along with the Senior A Munster Rugby Team and many more famous celebs to be confirmed. There will also be plenty of fun activities for all age groups. These include carnival games, bouncing castles, soccer AM, traditional Irish music, high ropes, and 5 aside soccer tournament. A 8 km run will also take place for those who're more energetic starting at 11am from the Glen Resource Centre. All we ask is for donations on the day.
